Seventeenth drawing (Salamandre section, comics project) theme => "Hybridisation"

Salamanders maintain an exceptionally high skill level about hybridizing seaweed species.
As a result, several varieties are grown in different ponds and, once mature, are used as building materials, fabric for clothing or armor and, of course, food. A terrible parasite recently struck the marsh seaweeds, bringing the Salamander people at the edge of starvation. Fortunately, the strains of these precious plants were kept safe in containers inside a temperate cellar, whose water is filtered by the earth surrounding the cavities.
